ZHENYA

                                                            ZHENYA

Zhenya is five and is our next door neighbor.  We didn't know him until, maybe, three weeks after we got here.  He would throw glass bottles at Cheyne, sometimes, but now he rides down his hill in the snow on our sleds with  me, Cheyne, Cana, and Lila.  Sometimes Vera our dog tears holes in our clothes. I have three or four tears in my good camo coat from Vera.  We gave Zhenya one of our sleds and he really liked it.  Me and Cheyne at least had our biggest sled in our life because it was super fast.  You would really like it Rem.  Then you go on a big bump and go really high.  The bad part is getting all wet and numb.  It is really hard to leave Zhenyya because I guess he's used to the cold and we're not, so he doesn't ever want us to leave.   If he does let us leave, he nods his head and walks to his house a little bit sad.  He's ok the next day, though.  Pray for his family because I think it's either Zhenya's dad or grandad beats him because he drinks alcohol a lot and he gets drunk.  So be praying for them.

LOVE,

DICKSON

  3. Hey Dickson...I so thankful for you and Cheyne caring enough to show Zhenya some brotherly love. I'll bet he looks to both of you like big brothers and your kindness has to be a great blessing in his life. His whole attitude is changing already from throwing bottles to run you off to wanting you to not leave. WOW! Kindness makes a person hungrier for more and sounds like Zhenya is eating it up. I know God has to be so pleased with you. Love you...Gdad
