ZHENYA

                                                            ZHENYA

Zhenya is five and is our next door neighbor.  We didn't know him until, maybe, three weeks after we got here.  He would throw glass bottles at Cheyne, sometimes, but now he rides down his hill in the snow on our sleds with  me, Cheyne, Cana, and Lila.  Sometimes Vera our dog tears holes in our clothes. I have three or four tears in my good camo coat from Vera.  We gave Zhenya one of our sleds and he really liked it.  Me and Cheyne at least had our biggest sled in our life because it was super fast.  You would really like it Rem.  Then you go on a big bump and go really high.  The bad part is getting all wet and numb.  It is really hard to leave Zhenyya because I guess he's used to the cold and we're not, so he doesn't ever want us to leave.   If he does let us leave, he nods his head and walks to his house a little bit sad.  He's ok the next day, though.  Pray for his family because I think it's either Zhenya's dad or grandad beats him because he drinks alcohol a lot and he gets drunk.  So be praying for them.

LOVE,

DICKSON

CHIMNEY BUSINESS

                                                                               POST 2

Ayana teaches us a bunch of Russian words like the word for Jesus is иисус (esuse).  On Wednesday I accidentally put too much wood in the "pitchka" and made the water boil and really hot; like steamy hot.  It made steam go all over the bathroom.  The water from the water box boiled out and washed the mortar out like mud.  It took two or three hours for Dad to clean it up.  The two elements that the mortar was made out of were clay and sand.  Gera and Dad wiped it on with their hands.  It wasn't like normal mortar.  The fire was too hot so we took some of the wood out of the fire place.  Then we put it in a silver bucket while it was still on fire and took it outside.  Then we had to hook a tube up to the water box and the other end to a little valve and then we turned it on and filled the pipes up with water.

Hello Everybody!

We are in Russia and I go with Dad everywhere.  Like to the "mugazine" and Sberbank and mini market.   We have a puppy and her name is Vera and when I put dogfood in her bowl she eats all of it in maybe 45 seconds.  She even eats out of the compost sometimes.  We have a really nice Land Cruiser it has 8 seats and the steering wheel is on the opposite side so it was kind of confusing to Dad at first.  Our friend Gera when we first got here he drove really crazy Cana said.  We went up our road a long ways and then went up a little hill and it grew into a mountain I would say it was half a mile and then half of the other mile high.  Then when you got to the top you could see about 50 miles maybe.  Then we started our long way down and picked some crab apples, and jumped down a few tiny hills.  We got on the road and headed toward home.  Most of the times Dad goes to town Ayana goes with him but sometimes Dad goes by himself.  Instead of oat meal here we do a type of cereal called tal-khan you would probably call it talkhan but you pronounce it kind of like [ talkhkhkhkhkan] really fast.  The ice-cream here is in a long white and blue tube.  Ayana is the one that teaches us Russian.
